Being a new mommy is tiring, but a huge blessing. I am so thankful for little Adeline. Matt and I call her Squeakers sometimes, because she has this adorable little squeak sound she makes. Taking care of a baby is tiring, but God has been giving me the strength (and opportunities for naps, too). This has to be a short entry for now, because it's time for Adeline to eat soon. Hopefully, I can write more about new "mommyhood" sometime soon.

P.S. For those that would like to see more pictures, I am actually still learning how to put pictures on my computer from Matt's camera. My goal is for one of us to have more baby pictures on one of our blogs soon.

When looking at the calendar today, Matt noticed that it's a leap year this year. February 29th is only 2 weeks before the baby's due date, so there's a possibility we could have a leap year birthday baby!

Huckabee on the Tonight Show

Well, tomorrow is Iowa caucus day. I was reading in an article from the Washington Post talking about how Mike Huckabee's personality seems to stand out among the GOP candidates this time around. It looks like Huckabee is going to be on Jay Leno tonight while the other candidates are doing last minute campaigning in Iowa. I think that's a smart move on his part, especially since tonight is the first All-New episode of the Tonight Show since the writers' strike. I would watch tonight, but I don't know if I'll be able to stay up! I think I'd rather wait until tomorrow and try to catch the interview online.

Bring on the festivities (at least until 10PM) :-)

Today is the first New Years Eve where I can honestly say that I am planning not to stay up until midnight. I feel a little non-festive saying that, but I'm actually looking forward to going to bed sometime around my normal time. With the pregnancy, it's a lot easier when I keep to my normal sleeping schedule (even though I tend to like to go to bed at a decent hour anyway). While I'm visiting my parents this week, the plan is to celebrate tonight by playing games and having some appetizers here at the house. Also, I'm planning on making some homemade pizza!

With Matt's encouragement, I am back on xanga again. A lot has changed since I last posted. Matt and I are going to officially both be back on the East Coast again next week and we're expecting our first child in March. It's neat to look back and see how God has been directing our lives, from getting married in January to now.

Here are some things that I will miss about being in the Seattle area, in no particular order:

-Seeing all of the greenery throughout the year and the freshness the plant life brings to the air.
-Friends--especially those from 20CF and our church home fellowship
-Our church family, even though we've only been attending there for about 5 months
-Having lots of coffee shops to choose from, including Peet's Coffee and Teas (my favorite)
-Getting to shop at Whole Foods Market on occasion to get yummy all-natural foods
-Having the opportunity to see Mariners games, since it's a new stadium to me. (We saw the Mariners play the Orioles last summer and it was fun!)

Out of all of these, I will miss the people God has put in our lives the most!

As we move back to the East Coast, I'm looking forward to so many things. Rather than making a list for this one, I'll just say that it will be so good to be back near family and to be apart of our church out here again.

It's about time for an update on this beautiful Sunday. Actually, for those reading this on the East Coast, it is now Monday. It has been a neat weekend all around. I am thankful to God for His provision, but most of all for His love.

Today marked our fourth consecutive Sunday of visiting a church around here. It's been important for us to attend a church where we feel God would like us to be. It's been really neat to see how God is working in the lives of the people at this particular church. We also like how the members of the church made us feel welcome from the beginning. We've been attending a small group through the church, which is an answer to prayer. There seem to be quite a few young married couples there, but also people in all age groups.

It has been a refreshing weekend, and I am thankful for that!

Today officially marks one month since our wedding day! This month has certainly been great and different, to say the least. Different in the best possible way, of course. Matt and I have been getting to know people a little better out here and visiting churches, too. So far, we've visited 2 churches for 2 weeks apiece. We may visit a third church this Sunday, but I'm not positive on that one. An update is that I have my first ever piano lesson this Friday and I'm pretty excited about it! Matt talked with her on the phone and said that she sounds like a nice person. I don't know quite what to expect, but I do love music and learning new things. My goal is to practice every day and really take advantage of the time I have to learn.

Also, now that I'm a housewife, I've been trying lots of new recipes. Last night, I made meatloaf for the first time. Every time I make something new, I can usually think of things I would do differently. So, in a nutshell...Cooking is pretty fun!

God is so good and I appreciate the new opportunities He is putting in my path.

I would just like to say that Matt is the sweetest guy ever! I really appreciated how he helped me feel so cared for on my birthday. It was a really fun weekend! On Friday, Matt and I dressed up in formal wear and went to the Strathmore to see Mozart's Requiem and Ressurection. It was a really beautiful performance--I love how all of the words gave honor and glory to God! It was definitely a memorable experience that brings smiles to my face when I think about it. On Saturday, we went bridemaid dress shopping. Rachel, one of bridemaids, came down from PA. So fun! Then, on Sunday, it was a beautiful morning! Matt, picked me up so we could see the sunrise at the park. While we were there, he surprised me with flowers, beautiful words, and an engagement ring It's fun for me to tell the story of the morning in person, so feel free to ask me if you'd like! Also, that day, we decided on bridemaids dresses and Matt's family came over. This was definitely a special birthday

That Matt and I got engaged Saturday night! I thank God for Matt and am so excited that God has placed him in my life to be my future husband.
